To broaden academic horizons, strengthen scholarly exchanges, and enhance the research and innovation capabilities of students in the Elite Mathematics Talent Program, the Mathematics and Statistics School organized the Overseas Studying Program to Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore from 12th January to 19th January 2025.

Twenty students from the Elite Mathematics Talent Program, led by Professor Chen Xiaofeng, completed the study visit at NTU. The program, titled Applied Mathematics: Applications in Big Data, Business, and Finance, was designed to provide students with access to world-class educational resources and academic exchange platforms, thereby enhancing their academic proficiency and global perspective.

Renowned as a leading global institution, NTU holds exceptional prestige in engineering and business disciplines. The eight-day program featured a curriculum focused on the applications of applied mathematics in big data, business, and finance. Courses were delivered by senior faculty from NTU’s School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, covering interdisciplinary topics such as analytical optimization, artificial intelligence in business, investment science, and mathematical modeling of financial derivatives.

Students also engaged in group projects, delivering final presentations in English to showcase their research outcomes. Post-program reflections highlighted transformative experiences.

The program served as a pivotal platform for academic and professional growth, equipping students with advanced knowledge, enhanced global awareness, and strengthened cross-cultural communication skills. It is anticipated that this experience will inspire continued excellence in their future endeavors, empowering them to contribute meaningfully to societal progress and national development.
